The possible combinations of elements are:
- nx-interface is compatible with next1 and next3. Use one nx-interface per system.
- next3 and next1 are compatible with solar chargers variostring and variotrack with the use of a communication gateway xcom 485i-nx.
- Multiple next3 can be paralleled up to 3 units in a system.
- Multiple next1 can be combined: paralleled up to 2 units in a system and set in split-phase and triphase. Up to 6 units in a system.
- Grid-tied inverter can be used for AC coupling with the Ac flex input/output of the next inverter-charger.

The next devices are not compatible with:
- Inverter-chargers from the xtender series must not be combined with every inverter-chargers of the next series
- All the accessories from the xtender inverter-chargers series (for example: rcc, bsp, xcom-can, xcom-lan, xcom-4G, xcom-GSM…)
- The xtender studer CAN-bus and the nx-bus must never be put together.
